'The Stalking'
Lioness Stalking bronze Big Cat Bust Head Sculpture
I have initially sculpted this in clay. All the wax models for casting are hand poured and chased by me. I metal chase these casts and patina them in my studio. I make only limited editions of 18 only. I number and sign each wax model before I cast it in high grade Silicon Bronze.
A lioness Stalking, intense, unflinching piercing look into the distance hunting for prey. A superb example of the International artist Vya`s fluid but decisive strokes on clay. From a few scoops of clay come this majestic creature, the queen of the jungle.
The lioness doesnít have conditional claws;
Her incisors are incisive and her gaze is focused,
Her pupils, two definitive periods
That look, unblinkingly, at you.
When a lioness looks at you,
You know youíve been looked at.
Base is bronze with a leather backing
Your choice of patina.
