During its mission to transport 138 El-Aurian refugees, it was pulled into a Nexus energy distortion where it was trapped with its identical sister ship S.S. Robert Fox. U.S.S. Enterprise-1701-B picked up their distress signal and made an attempt to save them in the opening scenes of Star Trek: Generations.
