In the comic adaptation of Batman Forever, the Batboat wasn’t the Dark Knight’s only waterborne vehicle. Struck by a missile launched from the Riddler’s island stronghold, Batman was forced to ditch the Batwing in the waters of Gotham City Harbour. In so doing, he jettisoned the craft’s wings to reveal a secret weapon – a sleek submersible that enabled the Dark Knight to rescue Robin and continue on his mission.
